From the moment you turn down the long tree-lined path to the estate you know you’re in for something truly special. In the same family for over 200 years, what was once a farming village has been lovingly turned into a luxury rural hotel (and one of my favorite stays to date). Although the estate is located about two hours from Lisbon, it feels a world away. From the reimagined character-filled farm buildings, sprawling meadows and ancient olive groves to its superb farm-to-table cuisine and world class Susanne Kaufmann spa, this is what luxury agritourism dreams are made of.
